Summer in the Psalms | Kenny Ortiz

Sunday, July 7th, 2024

Kenny Ortiz (Th.M.) has been a pastor, professor, podcaster, and entrepreneur. He currently serves on the staff team at The Grove Church in Clermont, FL and he’s in the process of launching Horizon City Church in Winter Garden, FL. He’s also Ph.D. candidate at Midwestern Seminary. Kenny is married to Malaina, they have two kids.

Kenny preached on Psalm 59:

As a young man, David found himself on the run from King Saul. He had the opportunity to potentially usurp King Saul but chose not to. Later, David had the opportunity to seek vengeance against King Saul and Saul’s men, and again, David chose not to. The primary reason why David did not seek vengeance is because he trusted the sovereignty of God. In Palm 59, we see the heart of David as he wrestles with trusting God’s goodness through the process, and we see that David serves as a foreshadowing of Christ.
