Today’s passage: Isaiah 61:10-62:12

Isaiah 61:10-62:12 is one long poem. It is a love song. It is a swelling celebration of the spreading joy that will be God’s and His Anointed One’s as they bring about salvation. 

Hebrews tells us that it was the joy set before Jesus that motivated him to endure the cross. This passage brings us into that joy. 

Today’s Prayer: 

Assist us mercifully with your grace, Lord God of our salvation, that we may enter with joy upon the meditation of those mighty acts by which you have promised us life and immortality; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
