Sermon // Characters of the Bible – Daniel

Today we are starting a new series called “Characters of the Bible.” We will begin by looking at the life of Daniel. His life was shaken when he was a teenager. Yet, through all the ups and downs, he did not compromise his faith. His story ends 70 years later as an amazing leader and the second most powerful man in the most powerful empire at the time. The focus of this book is often on the human characters: Daniel, his three friends, and also Kings Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Darius, and Cyrus. But we must not be misled; Daniel’s main function is to reveal God to us. It reminds us that in spite of present appearances, God is in control.
