Baptism Sunday – Do Not Steal- The Eighth Commandment  –

“Do not steal…”

This week is a celebratory week in our church, as we celebrate baptism and new members! 

We will also continue our series on the 10 Commandments by looking at commandment eight: do not steal. 

Everyone knows stealing is wrong, so surely this commandment will not be as applicable as the others…right? 

Maybe not…as with the other commands we will see how deep this one goes. It goes all the way down to the heart and focuses in on what we are treasuring…because as someone wise once said: Where your treasure is…

Our supporting text will be Matthew 13: 44-46. 
Here is our outline: 

1. Spiritual treasure is often hidden in ordinary people.

2. Spiritual treasure is often buried in ordinary book, with an ordinary message.

3. Spiritual treasure is often hidden in ordinary activities.

4. Spiritual treasure is often hidden in ordinary occupations.
