Learning to share; Exodus 20; 1-17
Learning to share is hard.
I knew this part of parenting would be a challenge.
But over the past few years, as I have tried to learn this myself, and teach other small humans how to do it, there are some aspects of learning to share that I wasn’t ready for.
For example, one of the troubles with learning to share is not only learning that you should share…and that you have to share…but also learning that there are some things you should not share.
The fact is there are some things that should be shared and there are some things that shouldn’t be shared, and the challenge is learning to tell the difference.
This Sunday, we will unpack the First Commandment: You shall have no other gods before me; we will learn that this is true even for God.
There are many things He joyfully and freely shares with his creation…But there are some things He will not share.
And knowing the difference is one of the most important aspects of living a God-honoring and healthy life.
