Exodus 33:18-34:35 | Don’t Take Yes For An Answer | Powerful Praying Part 2

When we hear someone’s name, a picture pops into our minds. And that picture is the first thing we think of when we think of that person. It could be a picture of them smiling, frowning, or eating. It could be a stressed picture, a scary picture, or a happy picture. Whatever it is, it reveals what we think is their defining characteristic.

What picture comes to mind when you think about God?

Anger? Justice? Grace? Distance? Coldness? Abstract Nothingness?

A.W. Tozer famously said that whatever we think of when we think of God is THE most important thing about us.

In Exodus 34, God tells us what HE wants us to think about when we think of Him.

And we will see that this picture not only points us to our deepest longing as humans but also to where that deepest need can be found.
