Sermon // The Wonders of His Love – Patience and Kindness // 1 Cor 13:3-7
Last week we saw that love is the most important thing in our life. No matter how gifted we are, no matter how successful we are, no matter how sacrificial we are…we are nothing without love.
1 Corinthians 13 is a great challenge for the church. Paul tells us, you can have:
- loveless worship,
- loveless preaching,
- loveless theology
- loveless faith
- loveless social action/ justice
- loveless martyrdom
Nothing can compensate for a lack of love.So, we know we need it…but what is it?
That is what we will begin to take up today.
In verses, 3-7 Paul gives us 15 verbs that describe love.
Today we will begin with the first two: Patience and Kindness.
